Textile Care

Linen Cotton Canvas

Washing

    •    Machine wash cool on a gentle or delicate cycle.

    •    Use a phosphate-free detergent.

    •    Wash with like colors.

Drying

    •    Tumble dry on low heat.

    •    Remove promptly to help reduce wrinkles.

Ironing

    •    Iron on the reverse (unprinted) side of the fabric.

    •    Use a pressing cloth if desired.

Additional notes

    •    Pre-washing is recommended before sewing, as the fabric can shrink approximately 3–6% in length and 0–1% in width.

    •    Raw cut edges may fray. Consider serging, stay-stitching, or washing in a mesh bag for the first wash.

    •    Dry cleaning is also acceptable if preferred.

Grasscloth Wallpaper

Routine cleaning

    •    Dust regularly with a soft feather duster or vacuum using a soft brush attachment on low suction.

    •    Always work gently and follow the direction of the natural weave.

Spot cleaning (only if necessary)

    •    Avoid water and liquid cleaners whenever possible — natural sisal is sensitive to moisture and can show water marks.

    •    If a spot must be addressed, use only the foam from a clear, mild dishwashing liquid on a soft white cloth. Touch the area lightly.

    •    Test any cleaning method on an inconspicuous area first.

What to avoid

    •    Water or damp cloths as a routine method

    •    Spray cleaners, powders, or chemical cleaners

    •    Rubbing or pressing hard on the surface

Important notes

    •    Not recommended for high-moisture areas such as bathrooms with showers or tubs, or kitchens with heavy steam/grease.

    •    Natural variations in color, texture, and weave are expected and are part of the material’s character.

    •    Professional installation by someone experienced with grasscloth is strongly recommended.

Traditional Wallpaper

Routine cleaning

    •    Dust or vacuum lightly on a regular basis (every 1–2 months is a good target).

    •    For deeper cleaning: use a damp (not wet) microfiber cloth with a small amount of mild dish soap and warm water.

    •    Wipe gently — do not scrub or rub aggressively.

    •    Dry the surface immediately with a soft, lint-free towel.

What to avoid

    •    Solvent-based cleaners

    •    Ammonia-based cleaners

    •    Household spray cleaners

    •    Powder cleaners

    •    Abrasive pads or harsh scrubbing

Additional notes

    •    Professional installation is recommended for best results.

    •    Keep the wallpaper away from prolonged direct moisture when possible.
