Camellia & Crown began as two parallel daydreams and was born over a game of mahjong and a glass of wine.

Olivia and Samantha had each been turning the same idea over for years; Olivia through the lens of interior design, Samantha through fine art. Eventually they decided the only sensible thing was to build it together.

What emerged is a thoughtful atelier devoted to the handmade mark: crests and logos drawn by hand before they are ever digitized, fabrics and wallpapers that carry the slight irregularities of the original sketch, and a concierge approach that treats every project as singular.

Our work is still intimate, still slow where it needs to be, and still rooted in the belief that the objects we live with and the spaces we live in every day should feel like they were made by someone who cares.

We are happiest when a design finds its way onto the things that gather people; linens, stationery, or the walls of a dining room. That is the quiet ambition behind everything we do.

A friendship rooted in Fort Worth

Olivia and Samantha grew up in Fort Worth together. They attended the same school through high school, spent summers at the same camps, and trained side by side in the same ballet studios as children. Those shared years, long Texas summers, familiar classrooms, and the quiet discipline of the barre, left a lasting imprint.

After college their paths diverged, as paths often do. Years later, a casual mahjong game brought them back to the same table. Over tiles and wine they discovered they had been circling the same creative vision all along. Building it together felt like the natural next chapter of a friendship that had already spanned decades.

That history is part of why the studio feels the way it does. There is an ease that comes from knowing someone’s taste and values for most of a lifetime, and a particular care that arises when two people create side by side after already growing up side by side. The partnership is personal because the friendship is personal.
